Firearm safety is a crucial aspect of home and vehicle safety. In 2024 alone, 102 guns have been stolen from vehicles in Leon County.
On June 12, 2024, the Leon County Sheriff's Office launched the "Secure Guns, Save Lives" campaign. This initiative aims to educate the public about the importance of proper gun storage practices to help prevent accidents, suicides, and thefts within the community.
